  • 1 green bell pepper, thinly sliced
  • 1 yellow onion, thinly sliced
  • 8 whole pepperoncini
  • 1 tablespoon olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon red wine vinegar
  • 1/2 teaspoon dried oregano
  • Kosher salt, as desired
  • Ground black pepper, as desired
  • 4 all-beef hot dogs
  • 4 hot dog buns
  • 1 cup fried onions or potato chips

Utensils

  • Medium Bowl
  • Skewers
  • Step 1

To install the grill grate, slide it into the front of the base so it hooks in, then press down on the back until it clicks into place and close hood. Select GRILL, set temperature to HI, and set time to 15 minutes. Press the dial to begin preheating (preheating will take approximately 7 minutes)

  • Step 2

While unit is preheating, in a medium bowl, toss the green peppers, onions, and pepperoncini with olive oil, vinegar, oregano, salt, and pepper.

  • Step 3

To cut each hot dog into a spiral, slide a long wooden skewer vertically through the center of each hot dog. Working with one hot dog at a time, place the hot dog on a cutting board. Using a paring knife, cut into the hot dog at one end at a slight angle, cutting all the way through to the skewer. Using the skewer as your guide, turn the hotdog through the blade clockwise, moving down the hot dog, until you reach the other end. Carefully remove the skewer from the hot dog, then repeat with the remaining hot dogs.

  • Step 4

When unit beeps to signal it has preheated, open hood and transfer peppers, onions, and pepperoncini to the grill grate. Close hood to begin cooking.

  • Step 5

When the cook time reaches 5 minutes, open hood. Move the vegetables to one side of the grill and add the hot dogs to the other. Close hood to continue cooking, opening occasionally to rotate hot dogs.

  • Step 6

When cooking is complete, open hood and remove hot dogs and veggie mixture. Place each hot dog in a bun, then top each with 1/4 cup of the veggie mixture and 1/4 cup fried onions or potato chips.
