Salted Caramel Brownies
These salted caramel brownies are so decadent and fudgy. The caramel sauce gives these a sweet and salty flavor, and a soft chewy texture. Feel free to add chopped nuts or chocolate chips to the batter to make these even more indulgent.

- 2 sticks (1 cup) unsalted butter
- 1/2 cup semi-sweet chocolate morsels
- 2 cups granulated sugar
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 4 large eggs
- 3/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1/3 cup caramel sauce, divided
- 1/4 teaspoon coarse sea salt

- 9-inch square baking pan

Step 1
Preheat the oven to 350°F. Line a 9-inch square baking pan with parchment paper and set aside.

Assemble the hand mixer attachment on the power base, then install the beaters.

In a microwave-safe, medium bowl, add the butter. Microwave until melted, about 1 minute. Remove bowl from microwave and add chocolate chips and sugar. Press power then the up arrow to mix on speed 2 until the chocolate is completely melted and combined with the sugar and butter.

Add the vanilla extract. Add 1 egg at a time, mixing after each until all are fully combined.

Add the cocoa powder, flour, kosher salt, and baking powder. Press power to begin mixing on speed 1 and then gradually increase to speed 4. Mix until just combined, about 1 minute.

Transfer the batter to the prepared baking pan. Drizzle half the caramel sauce over the brownie batter, then swirl the caramel sauce into the batter with a knife. Place the pan in the oven and bake for about 35 to 40 minutes.

When baking is complete, remove the pan from the oven and sprinkle with sea salt. Allow to cool completely, then top with the remaining caramel sauce.
