  • Nonstick cooking spray
  • 1 stick unsalted butter
  • 1 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 cup dark brown sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1/2 cup semi sweet chocolate chips
  • Flaky salt for garnish

Utensils

  • Small Saucepan
  • Large Bowl
  • Parchment Paper
  • Aluminum Foil
  • 8 x 8 Baking Dish
  • Rubber Spatula
  • Step 1

Line an 8”x8” glass baking dish with parchment paper, then evenly coat with nonstick cooking spray.

  • Step 2

Place a medium saucepan over medium heat. Add the butter and cook until browned and fragrant, stirring continuously for 5 to 10 minutes. Then transfer to a large bowl to stop the cooking process.

  • Step 3

To install the grill grate, slide it into the front of the base so it hooks in, then press down on the back until it clicks into place and close the hood. Select BAKE, set temperature to 350°F, and set time to 35 minutes. Press the dial to begin preheating (preheating will take approximately 5 minutes).

  • Step 4

In a separate large bowl, add the flour, baking powder, and salt and whisk until combined.

  • Step 5

Add the brown sugar, egg, and vanilla extract to the bowl with the butter and whisk until smooth and homogenous. Fold the flour mixture into the wet ingredients until just combined. Then fold in the chocolate chips.

  • Step 6

Transfer the batter to the prepared baking dish and with a spatula, smooth the top of the batter. Then cover with aluminum foil.

  • Step 7

When unit beeps to signify it has preheated, place the baking dish with aluminum foil on the grill grate and close the hood. Cook for 20 minutes, then open the hood and remove aluminum foil.  Close the hood to continue cooking.

  • Step 8

Blondies are done when a toothpick inserted into the thickest part comes out clean. When cooking is complete, remove the blondies, garnish with flaky salt and allow to cool for 20 minutes before cutting.
