This brown-sugared ham is an easy way to feed the family (or guests) any time of year. It’s a great holiday dish, as well, and making sandwiches is a sure way to level up those leftovers. By using a fully cooked ham, the hard part is done. All that’s left is adding a delicious and flavorful brown sugar glaze.

  • 1 (3 pound) bone-in, fully cooked ham quarter
  • 3 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1/4 cup pineapple juice
  • 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
  • 1 cup light brown sugar, packed
  • 1 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger

Utensils

  • Smart Thermometer
  • Cooking Pot
  • Step 1

Plug the thermometer into the unit. Insert the Cooking Pot and close the hood. Select ROAST, set the temperature to 350°F, then select PRESET. Use the arrows to the right to select PORK. The unit will default to WELL to cook pork to a safe temperature. Insert the Smart Thermometer into the thickest part of the ham. Select START/STOP to begin preheating.

  • Step 2

While the unit is preheating, score the ham using a sharp knife, creating a diamond pattern on top. Brush on the Dijon mustard.

  • Step 3

In a small bowl, combine the pineapple juice, vinegar, brown sugar, cinnamon, and ginger.

  • Step 4

When the unit beeps to signify it has preheated, place the ham in the Cooking Pot. Brush some of the glaze over the entire ham, then pour the rest on top so the glaze can seep into the scores. Close the hood to begin cooking.

  • Step 5

When cooking is complete, the Smart Thermometer will indicate that the desired temperature has been reached. Remove the ham from the pot and let rest for at least 10 minutes before slicing. Serve.
