TIP: There are plenty of recipes for homemade Mongolian beef sauce available, but I find some of the ready-made sauces are just as good, inexpensive, and much more convenient. I prefer fresh garlic and ginger but those can also be purchased pre chopped for added convenience.

  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 2 tablespoons avocado oil, divided
  • 1 tablespoon minced garlic
  • 1 tablespoon minced ginger
  • ¼ teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 4 green onions, cut in 3-inch pieces
  • ¼ cup premade Mongolian beef sauce
  • 2 cups white rice, cooked
  • 2 teaspoons sesame seeds

Utensils

  • Large Bowl
  • Step 1

To install the grill grate, slide it into the front of the base so it hooks in, then press down on the back until it clicks into place. Place griddle on top of grill grate so it sits flat.

  • Step 2

Select BBQ GRIDDLE, set temperature to 400°F, and set time to 10 minutes. Close hood and press the dial to begin preheating (preheating will take approximately 10 minutes).

  • Step 3

While unit is preheating, prepare the steak. In a large bowl, place the steak, salt, and cornstarch and toss until evenly coated.

  • Step 4

When the unit beeps to signify it has preheated, open hood and place 1 tablespoon avocado oil evenly over the griddle surface. Allow oil to heat for 1 minute.

  • Step 5

Place the steak on the griddle. Do not overcrowd. Cook the steak for 1 minute on each side, then remove from the griddle.

  • Step 6

Add the remaining avocado oil, garlic, ginger, red pepper flakes, and green onions. Cook for 1 minute, then add the Mongolian beef sauce.

  • Step 7

Allow sauce to warm for 30 seconds, add the steak, toss to combine and cook for 2 minutes.

  • Step 8

Remove the steak from the griddle and serve with cooked rice. Garnish with sesame seeds.
