Homemade Chai Latte
TIP: Save leftover chai base in the refrigerator for up to 1 week to use later for additional lattes.

Step-by-step instruction without your screen going to sleep
- ½-inch piece fresh ginger, peeled, cut into ⅛-inch coins
- ¼ cup turbinado sugar
- 3 cardamom pods
- 5 whole cloves
- 1 cinnamon stick
- pinch sea salt
- 2 teabags black chai tea
- 1 cup (8 ounces) whole milk

Step 1
Add all ingredients except milk in a medium bowl, and place under portafilter.

Press the HOT WATER button. Turn center dial to select desired temperature, then press START BREW. Once water has finished dispensing, press HOT WATER button a second time.

Allow spices to steep for 5 minutes, pour steeped spices and liquid through a fine-mesh strainer, then discard the spices.

Add milk to milk jug, then place milk jug on milk jug platform with steam wand inside.

Press the MILK TYPE button until DAIRY is illuminated. Turn froth dial until THIN FROTH is illuminated. Press START FROTH to begin frothing.

Add ½ cup of chai to cup. Pour frothed milk over tea and serve.
