Topping

  • 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup light brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon apple pie spice
  • pinch Kosher salt
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, chilled, cut in small cubes

Filling

  • 2 tablespoons unsalted butter
  • 4-6 Granny Smith or Gala apples, peeled, diced in large cubes or wedges
  • 2 tablespoons light brown sugar
  • pinch Kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons bourbon
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice

Utensils

  • Large Bowl
  • Small Bowl
  • Step 1

    Preheat oven to 350°F.

  • Step 2

To make crumble topping, combine flour, sugars, apple pie spice, and salt. Then use a fork or pastry cutter to cut the cold butter cubes into flour mixture until it appears crumbly and most of butter is evenly combined. Set aside.

  • Step 3

To make filling, melt butter in the Ninja™ Foodi™ NeverStick™ 3-quart Sauté Pan or Fry Pan over medium heat, then add apples to pan.

  • Step 4

Stir in brown sugar and salt and cook for 3 to 5 minutes.

  • Step 5

In a small bowl, thoroughly mix flour, bourbon, and lemon juice together to make a slurry. Pour slurry over the apples and stir until they’re evenly coated.

  • Step 6

Remove pan from heat, then sprinkle topping evenly over apples.

  • Step 7

Place pan in oven and bake for 25 to 30 minutes until mixture is bubbling and apples are tender.

  • Step 8

Serve crumble warm with a scoop of ice cream or topped with whipped cream, if desired.
