Tip: This recipe is 3-4 servings. To reduce servings for 1-2 people, cut the quantities in half for the base, veggies, and protein, then follow temperature and time recommendations as listed. Then, cover Crisper Tray with aluminum foil to protect base from additional heat.
  1. Start by adding white rice (1 cup) to the bottom of the unit
    Tip: Make sure you rinse the rice first.
  2. Add 2 cups of water or stock
  3. Mix white onion (½ cup. Diced if frozen, quartered if fresh), carrots (1 cup, cut into 1" coins) and mushrooms (1 cup - frozen or fresh) with the white rice. (Alternatively vegetables can be cooked to tender in a foil packet placed on the crisper tray with the tofu)
    Tip: For extra crispy results, add vegetables directly to the crisper tray with the tofu. Heartier vegetables ( Carrots; ) should be added at the start of the cooking cycle. Delicate vegetables ( White onion; ) should be added for the remaining 5-7 minutes.
  4. Season the tofu with the tikka masala and curry
    Tip: Marinate the tofu for a minimum of 30 minutes and up to 6 hours ahead of time with your favorite marinade, or buy pre-marinated proteins to save time.
  5. Place your tofu on the crisper tray in the elevated position and close the lid
  6. Close the lid and flip the SmartSwitch™ to RAPID COOKER. Select SPEEDI MEALS, set temperature to 350°F, and set time for 10 to 15 minutes. Press START/STOP to begin cooking (the unit will steam for approximately 10 minutes before crisping)
    Tip: We recommend sticking to the suggested heights and weights above for your protein. Thicker cuts of meat may need 3-5 extra minutes of cooking time which could overcook your grains.
  7. Top off your bowl with fresh herbs, toasted nuts or seeds and greek yogurt
