  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1/2 cup raisins
  • 1/2 cup buttermilk

Utensils

  • 8-Inch Round Baking Pan
  • Large Bowl
  • Step 1

Close the crisping lid. Preheat the unit by selecting BAKE/ROAST, setting the temperature to 325°F, and setting the time to 5 minutes. Select START/STOP to begin.

  • Step 2

While unit is preheating, spray the Ninja multi-purpose pan* (or an 8-inch baking pan) with nonstick cooking spray; set aside.

  • Step 3

In a large bowl, combine flour, sugar, salt, baking soda, and raisins. Add buttermilk and stir to combine.

  • Step 4

Turn dough onto a floured surface and knead for 1 minute. Shape into a ball and transfer to prepared pan, flattening slightly. Using a knife, cut a 1/2-inch deep “X” into the top of the dough.

  • Step 5

Place pan on the reversible rack, making sure rack is in the lower position.

  • Step 6

Once unit is preheated, place rack with pan in pot. Close the crisping lid. Select BAKE/ROAST, set temperature to 325°F, and set time to 40 minutes. Select START/STOP to begin.

  • Step 7

After 35 minutes, open lid and insert a toothpick. If it comes out clean, cooking is complete. If not, close lid to resume cooking for 5 minutes.

  • Step 8

When cooking is complete, carefully remove rack with pan and let cool for 15 minutes. Serve at room temperature.
