Smoked Meatloaf

This meatloaf is extra delicious with its smoky flavor. Serve this with a side of mashed potatoes and green beans or asparagus for a classic dinner.

TIP: If desired, top meatloaf with extra BBQ sauce or ketchup in the last 10 minutes of cooking.

TIP: If you cannot find meatloaf mix, feel free to create your own mixture using ground beef, veal, and pork, or use 2 pounds of any ground meat such as beef, turkey, or chicken. Cook time may vary if using poultry—be sure to cook to an internal temperature of 165°F.

Cooking mode

  • 2 pounds meatloaf mix (ground beef, veal, pork)
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 1 medium onion, peeled, diced
  • 2 large eggs
  • ¼ cup chopped parsley
  • ¼ cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • ½ cup BBQ sauce
  • ½ cup panko bread crumbs
  • 1 teaspoon paprika
  • kosher salt, as desired
  • ground black pepper, as desired
  • BBQ sauce or ketchup, for topping, as desired

  • Step 1

    Plug thermometer into unit. To install the grill grate, position it flat on top of the heating element and gently press down until it sits into place.

  • Step 2

    In a large bowl, add all ingredients and mix until combined. Evenly divide the mixture into 2 portions, then shape into loaves. Place loaves in the Air Crisp Basket, then place basket on the grill grate. Insert thermometer horizontally into the center of the thickest part of the meatloaf. Close the hood.

  • Step 3

    While holding the smoke box lid open, use the pellet scoop to pour pellets into the smoke box until filled to the top. Then close the smoke box lid.

  • Step 4

    Turn dial to SMOKER and set temperature to 300°F. To set the thermometer, select MANUAL and set temperature to 155°F. Select START/ STOP to begin cooking (no preheating is needed).

  • Step 5

    When cooking is complete, open hood and remove basket from grill. Let meatloaf rest for 5 minutes before slicing.
