Grilled Smoked Steak

This grilled smoked steak is a delicious and easy protein to throw together for a quick weeknight meal in under 30 minutes. Serve this with grilled green beans and mashed potatoes for a hearty and tasty dinner.

Step-by-step instruction without your screen going to sleep

  • 4 NY strip steaks (10-12 ounces each)
  • 3 tablespoons canola oil
  • kosher salt, as desired
  • ground black pepper, as desired
  • Step 1

    Season steak on all sides with the salt and pepper.

  • Step 2

    To install the grill grate, position it flat on top of the heating element and gently press down until it clicks into place. Add the steaks to the grill, then close the hood.

  • Step 3

    While holding the smoke box lid open, use the pellet scoop to pour pellets into the smoke box until filled to the top. Then close the smoke box lid.

  • Step 4

    Turn dial to SMOKER, set temperature to HI, and set time to 10 minutes. Select START/STOP to begin cooking (preheating is not necessary). Depending on the size of the steak and desired doneness, more or less time may be needed during the cooking cycle. Use the arrows to the right to add or reduce time as necessary.

  • Step 5

    When FLIP is displayed, open the hood, and flip the steaks, then close the hood to continue cooking.

  • Step 6

    When cooking is complete, remove steaks from grill and serve.
