Griddled Mac & Cheese Sandwiches

Step-by-step instruction without your screen going to sleep

  • 1 (12 ounces) frozen macaroni and cheese meal
  • 1/4 cup mix-ins of choice (chopped cooked bacon, caramelized onions, chopped cooked chicken, sautéed broccoli florets, chopped cooked hog dogs, etc.)
  • 4 slices American cheese (or cheese of choice)
  • 4 slices thick-cut white artisan bread
  • 4 tablespoons butter, room temperature

  • Step 1

    To install the grill grate, slide it into the front of the base so it hooks in, then press down on the back until it clicks into place. Install griddle on top of grill grate so it sits flat. Select BBQ GRIDDLE, set temperature to 400°F, and set time to 6 minutes. Close hood and press the dial to begin preheating (preheating will take approximately 10 minutes).

  • Step 2

    Prepare frozen macaroni and cheese per box instructions, then stir in mix-ins of choice until fully combined.

  • Step 3

    Place 1 slice of cheese on each slice of bread. Then evenly top with prepared macaroni and cheese and close the sandwiches.

  • Step 4

    Spread 1 tablespoon butter on the outside of each slice of bread.

  • Step 5

    When unit beeps to signal it has preheated, open hood and place sandwiches on griddle. Close hood to begin cooking. Cook for 6 minutes, flipping halfway through.

  • Step 6

    When cooking is complete, open hood, remove griddled cheese sandwiches, then cut in half to serve.
