Cornish Game Hen with Chimichurri
Perfect this Cornish Game Hen dish developed by celebrity chefs Adam Gertler and Aaron May, using the Ninja® Foodi™ XL Pro Air Fry Oven and Ninja® Foodi® Power Blender & Processor. Cornish game hens are a small tender poultry that cook fast and pair so well with an herby chimichurri sauce and crispy potatoes. In under an hour, you can have a slightly elevated and fancy meal to share with your family or friends.

Chimichurri Sauce
- ½ cup lime juice
- ½ cup olive oil
- ¼ cup chopped fresh chive
- ¼ cup fresh parsley
- ¼ cup chopped fresh oregano
- ½ jalapeño, seeds removed
- 2 cloves garlic, peeled, whole
Hens and Potatoes
- 2 russet potatoes, sliced ¼-inch thick
- Kosher salt, as desired
- 6 tablespoons canola oil
- Ground black pepper, as desired
- 2 Cornish rock hens
- 1 clove garlic, peeled, minced
- ½ cup Wondra or instant flour
- 4 bay leaves
- Parmesan cheese, as desired

Step 1
Add all chimichurri ingredients into the Nutri Ninja® Cup in the order listed. Select BLEND and process until the sauce is combined, but not smooth. Transfer the sauce to a bowl and season to taste with salt and pepper.

Add the potatoes to a large pot of salted water, bring to a boil and simmer until tender, about 5 minutes. Drain and toss with 2 tablespoons canola oil, salt, and pepper. Arrange the potatoes evenly in the air fry basket.

Install the wire rack on Level 1. Select WHOLE ROAST, select 2 LEVEL, set temperature to 450°F, and set time to 20 minutes. Press START/STOP to begin preheating.

Spatchcock the hens and season liberally with salt, pepper, minced garlic, and flour. Drizzle each hen with 2 tablespoons canola oil, then top with 1 bay leaf. Nest the Ninja Roast Tray in the Ninja Sheet Pan, then place the hens on the tray.

When the unit is preheated, place pan on wire rack on Level 1 and slide basket into the rails on Level 4. Close oven door to begin cooking.

When hens reach an internal temperature of 165°F, remove potatoes. Turn on the broil function and cook the hens for an additional 1 to 2 minutes, until they are a deep golden brown.

When cooking is complete, remove the hens from the oven and cover in chimichurri sauce. Top the potatoes with Parmesan cheese and serve warm with the hens.
