Step-by-step instruction without your screen going to sleep

  • 1 1/4 cup 1 1/4 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1 1/4 cup all purpose flour
  • 6 tablespoons sugar
  • 1 cup butter, cut into cubes and very cold
  • 8 ounce cream cheese, cut into cubes and very cold
  • 1 egg yolk
  • Flour for dusting
  • 1 1/2 cups semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 8 ounces frozen cherries, thawed and chopped

Utensils

  • Food Processor
  • Rolling Pin
  • Step 1

Place the flours and 6 tablespoons of sugars in a bowl of a food processor. Pulse to combine.

  • Step 2

Add in the butter, cream cheese and egg yolk and pulse for about 30 seconds or until the dough becomes a crumbly mass.

  • Step 3

Dust your workspace with flour. Turn out the dough and knead together until the dough forms a smooth ball.

  • Step 4

Flatten the ball into a rectangle and cut into 4 equal parts. Flatten each piece into a rectangle that is about 1/2-inch thick and wrap each piece individually in plastic wrap. Set in the fridge for about 2 hours.

  • Step 5

About 20 minutes before you take out the dough, make the filling. Place the chocolate chips into a microwave safe bowl and microwave in 15 seconds intervals, stirring each time. Do not over melt or your chocolate will singe. Stir in 1/2 cup of sugar. It will be grainy and that is okay.

  • Step 6

After two hours, remove one piece of dough from the refrigerator. Flour your workspace and rolling pin. Roll the dough out to about an 8 x 11 rectangle. Spread 1/4 of the chocolate mixture onto the dough and leave a 1/2-inch border on all sides. Sprinkle on 1/4 of the chopped cherries.

  • Step 7

Starting from the long side, carefully roll the dough away from you, starting from the center and working your way out. Roll as tightly as you can without letting all of the contents squirt out the sides. Place the log seam side down on a parchment lined baking sheet. Repeat with the other pieces of dough and refrigerate for about 30 minutes.

  • Step 8

After 30 minutes remove the dough logs from the refrigerator and using a serrated knife, cut into 1-inch slices. Place slices into both zone baskets of the air fryer.

  • Step 9

Install crisper plate into both baskets. Select Zone 1, select AIRFRY, set temperature to 325°F, and set time to 8 minutes. Select MATCH COOK to match Zone 2 settings to Zone 1. Press center dial to begin cooking.

  • Step 10

When cooking is complete, remove baskets and unit and allow to cool on counter for 3 minutes before serving. Repeat cooking process if more pieces need to be cooked.
