Charred Shishito Peppers

These charred shishito peppers are such a tasty and easy snack to throw together last minute! Enjoy them on their own, or dip them in your favorite dipping sauce.

TIP: Shishito peppers are mild, until they aren’t. The average shishito is about 13 to 160 times milder than a jalapeno peppers, however, about 1 out of every 10 to 20 peppers has a little extra kick.

Step-by-step instruction without your screen going to sleep

  • 3 cups whole shishito peppers
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • Flaky sea salt, for garnish

  • Step 1

    Insert the grill grate and close the hood. Select grill, set the temperature to Max, and set a time to 10 minutes. Select start so it starts to begin preheating. 

  • Step 2

    While the unit is preheating, in a medium bowl, toss the peppers in the oil until evenly coated. 

  • Step 3

    When the unit beeps to signify it has preheated, place the peppers on the grill grate. Gently press the peppers down to maximize grill marks. Close the hood and grill for 8 to 10 minutes, until they are blistered on all sides. 

  • Step 4

    When cooking is complete, place the peppers in a serving dish and top with the flaky sea salt. Serve immediately.
